To help make you feel more prepared for your Mini Newborn photo session, I have put together information to give you a better insight into what to expect. Have a read over these practical tips to help make your Mini Newborn photo session run smoothly.
I provide all of the props including wraps and headbands so all you need to do is show up! If you have any colour preferences for your session, please let me know. If not, just let me know the colours you do not like prior to your session.
It is best to avoid spicy foods or any foods/drinks that may upset babies tummy as it could result in lots of tears and little sleep during the session.
As the session is only 1 hour long please, give your baby a good feed just before leaving for your session so they arrive with a nice full tummy. A sleepy, content baby is perfect for these sessions.
Try to keep baby awake in the hours leading up to your session. Useful tips for keeping baby awake are to talk and play with them, or even give them a bath. So when they arrive to the studio they will be ready for a long nap.
Even if your baby doesn’t usually use one, a dummy can be a lifesaver during a photo shoot. It can help settle baby quickly and allows us to move smoothly through poses.
Make sure you have enough packed in the changing bag for feeds and changes for over 3 hours – it’s better to be over prepared than under prepared. If formula feeding, bring enough for two extra feeds just in case.
Please bring baby to the studio in a easy to remove sleepsuit/baby grow. Avoid a vest underneath as we don’t want to disturb them too much when they arrive into the studio. No tight clothing, socks, or hats, as these can leave marks on baby’s skin. Since this session is wraps only, no extra outfits are needed.
Please bring your usual changing bag with enough nappies, wipes, and milk (if formula feeding) for up to 2 hours, just in case baby needs a little top-up or change during the session. I have a tommee tippee prep machine you are welcome to make use of.
The studio will be kept warm so baby feels comfortable and sleepy (just like the womb). You may want to dress in layers so you can stay comfortable during the session.
Mini newborn sessions are one hour long, and because we keep baby wrapped, they tend to move quickly and smoothly. Please arrive on time so we can make the most of your session.
You will be invited back to the studio to view your gallery of images. These appointments take 60 – 90 minutes. I can bring you back in that same day or schedule your viewing for another day. We will book this in at the end of your session.
Feel free to share your experience during your newborn session with all your friends and family! Follow and tag me on your social media accounts.

This is your chance to sit back, relax, and watch your baby being photographed. I have tea, coffee, hot chocolate and water which you can help yourself to, along with a few cheeky biscuits!
Put your feet up (take your shoes off if you wish) and relax! I want you to enjoy this experience as much as I enjoy taking photos. Plus babies can sense stress so if you are relaxed, baby too is relaxed!
These sessions are designed to be short, simple, and wrapped-only.
Family and sibling photos are not included in mini sessions.
No outfit changes will be used — your baby will remain wrapped for the duration of the session.
If you would love to include family, siblings, or a variety of posing styles, I recommend booking a full newborn session for the complete experience.
