If you have time, test out a mini cake smash at home with a cupcake as a practice run! A whole cake sat in front of a little one can be a little daunting for them so it’s a good idea to get them used to the idea.
Bring along a towel for a dry down after some photos in a little tub. Don’t forget the baby wipes!
Smashing a cake is thirsty work!
Make sure the cake is a soft sponge cake with soft buttercream icing. Try to avoid chocolate cake if possible.
Make sure your little one has a rest before attending their session so they are ready for their closeup!
Your Childs clothes are more than likely going to have cake on them, so it’s a great idea to bring along an extra bag to store the messy clothes in.
